State of the Site

It’s only taken me eight months, but I’m finally posting to my blog again. Mostly I’m doing it in order to call attention to my site redesign, which I worked on last night during the State of the Union address (although I didn’t watch it, so I can’t comment on it). I hope that I’m also doing it out of an effort to start blogging regularly — geez, I sound like a broken record on that one.

Your comments on the new site design are welcome. I don’t claim to be a designer (I still have a hard time matching clothes) but I don’t think the color craziness is too horrible. Except maybe the yellow. Haven’t gotten that shade right yet.

The rest of the site content will start showing up this weekend.

  1. Associating sections of your site with colours is a great idea, and it looks nice. However, I don’t like how the lables for each colour is only displayed onMouseover. It’s like turning stones: fun at first, but quickly bothersome.

  2. Thanks for your thoughts, Brian. I think of the main page as just a landing spot, that few people would return to, so I hope the mouseover effect isn’t too annoying there. On the destination pages, would you suggest that the colored buttons always have the labels on?
